Direction-Dependent Janus Metasurface Supported by Waveguide Structure with Spoof Surface Plasmon Polariton Modes

Zi-Han Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel direction-dependent Janus metasurface supported by waveguide structure and surface plasmon polariton modes is proposed. It enables low-frequency polarization conversion and ultrawideband absorption in different directions, as well as a fixed direction-independent transparent window. The favorable properties of this structure offer potential practical applications in electromagnetic wave control and radar stealth technology fields.

Anti-reflection effect of large-area ZnO nano-needle array on multi-crystalline silicon solar cells

Meihuizi Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, an enhanced light trapping structure for multi-crystalline silicon solar cells was proposed. By constructing a ZnO nano-needle array on the surface of the cells, reflection in the visible-near infrared band was minimized, resulting in improved efficiency. The low-cost and simple preparation method of this structure makes it highly applicable.

Sulfur-Rich Polyimides Containing Bis(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)thiophene for High-Refractive-Index Applications

Kajari Mazumder et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of sulfur-containing polyimides with high refractive index and their potential applications in optoelectronics. The polyimides exhibited high thermodynamic stability and flexibility, with the ability to tune their optical properties. The increase in sulfur and aromatic contents in the polymer backbone resulted in higher refractive index values.

Impact of the refractive index on coupling structures for silicon solar cells

Laura Stevens et al.

Summary: Through simulation studies, it was found that the single pass light path enhancement factor does not accurately assess the light-trapping properties of structured surfaces, which can only be reliably evaluated at the complete system level. The refractive index of the structure strongly influences the light-trapping behavior.
