Roots drive oligogalacturonide-induced systemic immunity in tomato

Jordi Gamir et al.

Summary: The study found that the defense responses to oligogalacturonides (OGs) perception in tomato roots and shoots are different, with more significant changes observed in roots, even upon foliar application of OGs. OGs treatment activates the synthesis of defense-related hormones and secondary metabolites, inducing systemic resistance to Botrytis cinerea in plants.
