What does it mean to flourish? Piloting the flourishing measure with adolescents and young adults with mood and anxiety disorders

Summary: This study piloted the Flourishing Measure-Adolescent Version in a clinical sample and found that participants generally understood the concept of flourishing and individual items, and offered minor suggestions for improvement. The Flourishing Measure may be suitable for use in clinical and research settings for adolescents and young adults, but further piloting with larger and more diverse samples is needed.

A Systematic Review of Adolescent Flourishing

Summary: This study aimed to review the available literature on flourishing in adolescence, including its tie with other constructs, its study in different contexts and the way it has been operationalized. 28 empirical studies were selected, and four thematic axes were identified: (a) flourishing in different contexts, (b) flourishing in regards to other results and positive psychological characteristics and/or their negative counterpart, (c) flourishing and psychosocial vulnerability, and (d) indicators for the evaluation of flourishing. Suggestions are provided for consolidating the science of human flourishing.

Through the use of scoping review methodology and thematic analysis, the content and methodological characteristics of scientific evidence published between 2011 and 2020 were explored. The findings indicate significant potential for the application and benefits of the healthy and resilient organization model, particularly in Latin American contexts.
