A new hybrid piezo/triboelectric SbSeI nanogenerator

Bartlomiej Toron et al.

Summary: In this paper, a compressed antimony selenoiodide (SbSeI)-based hybrid piezo/triboelectric nano-generator for mechanical energy harvesting is presented for the first time. The study found that the device generated a significantly higher voltage per surface area and force unit in comparison with similar literature reported values for other piezo/triboelectric generators.

Waste textiles as the versatile triboelectric energy-harvesting platform for self-powered applications in sports and athletics

Manisha Sahu et al.

Summary: The triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is a promising technology for energy conversion in the field of intelligent sports. This study presents a new design for TENG using worn-out textiles, promoting recycling and reducing waste. The fabricated TENG structure achieved high voltage and current output, and energy harvesting from sports activities was demonstrated. Digital signal processing techniques were used for TENG-based sensing units in sports facilities.

Effect of cilia microstructure and ion injection upon single-electrode triboelectric nanogenerator for effective energy harvesting

Jungyeun Seo et al.

Summary: Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) can convert waste mechanical energy into useful electrical energy, and advanced surface designs and materials can enhance their performance. A single-electrode mode TENG with cilia microstructures (C-TENG) successfully converts biomechanical energy into electrical output, and can charge a commercial capacitor using a bridge rectifier circuit.

Development of triboelectric nanogenerator and mechanical energy harvesting using argon ion-implanted kapton, zinc oxide and kapton

Manisha Sahu et al.

Summary: This study focused on improving the electrical output performance of TENG through argon-ion implantation and using phase pure hydrothermally synthesized ZnO particles and argon-ion-implanted Kapton as positive triboelectric layers, with pure Kapton as the negative triboelectric layer. The surface properties of the triboelectric materials were investigated using AFM and KPFM, while elemental mapping and XPS confirmed successful Argon-ion implantation. The I-TENG device demonstrated promising electrical output responses and successfully powered a wristwatch and calculator.
