The impact of NPK fertilizer on growth and nutrient accumulation in juniper (Juniperus procera) trees grown on fire-damaged and intact soils

Ahlam Khalofah et al.

Summary: Wildfires have significant effects on soil properties and vegetation, requiring rapid reforestation efforts. This study examined the impact of organic NPK fertilizers on the growth and nutrient accumulation of Juniper trees grown on fire-damaged and intact soils. The results showed that higher fertilizer doses improved growth and nutrient acquisition, particularly a 10 g/L dose on intact soil. These findings suggest that supplying organic fertilizer can enhance reforestation in wildfire-affected Juniper forests.

Effect of Potassium (K) Supply on Cannabinoids, Terpenoids and Plant Function in Medical Cannabis

Avia Saloner et al.

Summary: This study found that potassium supply has a significant impact on the growth, function, and secondary metabolism of cannabis plants. Low potassium supply resulted in impaired plant development and function, while high potassium supply decreased the production of cannabinoids and terpenoids. An application level of 60 mg/L potassium is suggested to maintain high function, yield, and secondary metabolism.

Fertilization Regulates Accumulation and Allocation of Biomass and Nutrients in Phoebe bournei Seedlings

Zhi-Jian Yang et al.

Summary: The study found that N, P, and K fertilization can promote dry biomass accumulation, nutrient content, and accumulation in Phoebe bournei seedlings. N fertilizer has the greatest impact on total dry biomass and root N accumulation, P fertilizer affects stem growth, and K fertilizer influences root P accumulation and total K accumulation. Triple-factor application of N, P, and K fertilizers showed the best results in promoting nutrient uptake and highest dry biomass accumulation at medium levels of each nutrient.

Insufficient and excessive N fertilizer input reduces maize root mass across soil types

Raziel A. Ordonez et al.

Summary: Quantifying maize root response to nitrogen (N) fertilizer, soil texture, and weather is crucial to understanding complex soil-root-plant processes. Different plant traits are maximized at different levels of mineral N nutrition, and new equations have been developed to predict root mass and root to shoot ratio based on the combined data of nitrogen rates, locations, and years.

Nutrient and temperature constraints on primary production and net phytoplankton growth in a tropical ecosystem

Daffne C. Lopez-Sandoval et al.

Summary: The Red Sea displays a gradient of temperature and nutrient concentration from north to south, with varying primary production rates. Seasonal variations in phytoplankton growth rates and photosynthesis were observed, with nutrient availability playing a key role in defining photosynthetic rates and biomass levels.

Fertilization Failed to Make Positive Effects on Torreya grandis in Severe N-Deposition Subtropics

Yini Han et al.

Summary: Excessive nitrogen addition in mature subtropical Torreya grandis orchards in N-enrichment areas interferes with phosphorus availability, leading to unbalanced plant nutrient ratios and reduced economic and ecological efficiency. Organic management is recommended for sustainable development instead of heavy fertilizer treatment.
