Morphology controllable urchin-shaped bimetallic nickel-cobalt oxide/carbon composites with enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption performance

Fushan Li et al.

Summary: By regulating the calcination temperature, different morphologies of urchin-shaped bimetallic nickel-cobalt oxide/carbon (NiCo2O4/C) composites are prepared and their absorption properties are studied. The results show that the composites exhibit excellent absorption performance, mainly due to the interweaving needle-like structures that increase the opportunities for scattering and multiple reflections, the carbon component that enhances interfacial polarization and reduces the density of the absorber, and the generous oxygen vacancy defects that induce defect polarization and dipole polarization.
