Impact Study of Deep Foundations Construction of Inclined and Straight Combined Support Piles on Adjacent Pile Foundations

Hongsheng Qiu et al.

Summary: This paper examines the influence of inclined and straight combination support piles on the bending moment and displacement behavior of adjacent pile foundations during the construction of foundation pits. The research findings indicate that as the distance from the excavation surface increases, the bending moment of the adjacent pile foundation decreases, and the closer the pile is to the foundation pit, the greater the horizontal displacement of the pile. Moreover, the pile bending moment increases with the increase of the pit depth-width ratio, and the maximum displacement point of the pile body gradually moves down from the middle of the pile body to the bottom of the pile foundation as the excavation depth of the pit increases.

Study on Horizontal Bearing Capacity of Pile Group Foundation Composed of Inclined and Straight Piles

Hongsheng Qiu et al.

Summary: In all types of new arch bridge structures, the foundation requirements are becoming stricter. The internal force distribution of inclined piles participating in an arch foundation is complicated under horizontal thrust. This study investigates the horizontal forces and bearing performance of each pile in a pile group under total thrust by establishing a pile group foundation model and a p-y curve difference equation. The simulation results show that the load distribution calculated by the finite element method is very close to the p-y curve method, indicating the accuracy of the pile top load distribution. Furthermore, the maximum shear force occurs at the top of each pile, and the maximum bending moment occurs 1/5 away from the top.

Study on the Dynamic Response Characteristics and p-y Curve of Straight and Inclined Pile Groups in Saturated Sands

Yurun Li et al.

Summary: This study investigates the lateral dynamic response characteristics of straight and inclined pile groups in non-liquefied sand and saturated sand through shaking table tests. The results show that the inclined pile group has better bending resistance under the same lateral dynamic load.

Dynamic response of driven end-bearing piles and a pile group in soft clay: an experimental validation study

Freddie Theland et al.

Summary: This paper presents novel measurement data on the dynamic soil-structure interaction of an end-bearing pile foundation. The results show that the individual pile impedances are overestimated compared to the measurements, while the interaction factors show a better agreement. Additionally, the experimental results validate the pile-soil-pile interaction results from previous numerical studies.
