Summary: The development of nanoplatforms capable of multimodal imaging and combined therapies has great potential in improving diagnostic accuracy and therapy success. In this study, a new seed-assisted method was used to synthesize Au@Fe nanoparticles with a flower-like structure, which exhibited excellent features as both MRI and CT Contrast Agents. These nanoparticles also showed considerable energy-to-heat conversion under both Alternating Magnetic Fields and Near-Infrared light. Moreover, they exhibited very low cytotoxicity, confirming their potential for theranostics applications.
