High-performance shim coil design and engineering optimization for use in an extremely high field superconducting magnet

Raul Rojas-Luna et al.

Summary: A new heterogeneous photosensitizer, Ru@dpdhpzBASF-A520, was successfully synthesized through a unique strategy incorporating dipyridyl-dihydropyridazine adducts onto the aluminum fumarate units of highly porous MOF BASF-A520 and coordinating them to ruthenium metal centers. The resulting material displayed strong visible light absorption, allowing it to function as a single-site solid photosensitizer for hydrogen evolution in a photochemical reaction. Through various characterization techniques, it was confirmed that the ruthenium dipyridyl-dihydropyridazine adducts were effectively stabilized on the MOF surface and could efficiently inject electrons to Pt nanoparticles mediated by MV electron carrier for hydrogen generation from water.

Fouling of TiO2 induced by natural organic matters during photocatalytic water treatment: Mechanisms and regeneration strategy

Xuejia Yang et al.

Summary: Photocatalysis using TiO2 has been studied extensively for pollutant removal, but the deactivation of the catalyst in the presence of humic acid (HA) was found to be significant. The adsorption of in-situ oxidized HA formed surface complexes with TiO2, blocking active sites and decreasing photogenerated charge transfer efficiency. Regeneration of deactivated TiO2 was also investigated.

Dye-sensitized H2 evolution from water facilitated by photoinduced electron transfer between molecules on the inside and the outside of a carbon nanotube

Tomoyuki Tajima et al.

Summary: A water-dispersible dye@SWCNT/dendrimer hybrid was created by physically modifying dye-encapsulated single-walled carbon nanotubes. In the photocatalytic H-2 evolution reaction, photoinduced electron transfer occurs between the encapsulated dye molecule inside the SWCNT and an electron-relay molecule outside, ultimately leading to the reduction of H+ to generate H-2. Despite the possibility of energy migration or charge recombination, the process proceeds smoothly, achieving an external quantum yield of 8.5% under specific light irradiation.
