Ying Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, the inhibition of CRISPR-Cas trans-cleavage by Pb2+-induced G-quadruplex was investigated for the detection of Pb2+ in tea beverage and milk. The results showed that Pb2+ competitively combines with G-quadruplex, resulting in its resistance to CRISPR-Cas trans-cleavage. The detection of Pb2+ was achieved through fluorescence resonance energy transfer.

Template-Induced Growth of Sputter-Deposited Gold Nanoparticles on Ordered Porous TiO2 Thin Films for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Sensors

Suzhe Liang et al.

Summary: Ordered porous gold/titanium dioxide (Au/TiO2) hybrid nanostructured films were investigated for their optical response and application as molecular sensors. The study found that the Raman intensity is influenced by the thickness of deposited Au and a maximum intensity is observed at an effective Au thickness of 3.4 nm. The growth kinetics of Au on a TiO2 template during sputter deposition were analyzed using in situ grazing-incidence small-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS), providing insights for tailoring the Au/TiO2 nanohybrid thin films for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) applications.

A lead selective dimeric quinoline based fluorescent chemosensor and its applications in milk and honey samples, smartphone and bio-imaging

G. Prabakaran et al.

Summary: A dimeric quinoline-based Schiff base (DQS) was developed as a probe for the specific detection of Pb(2+) ions using fluorimetry. The binding of DQS with Pb2+ resulted in enhanced fluorescence intensity with a blue shift, attributed to the restriction of C-N rotation, C= N isomerization, and photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mechanisms. Moreover, intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) from an electron-donating morpholine group to a phenylene diamine acceptor linked to the quinoline bridge was responsible for the blue-shifted fluorescence enhancement in the DQS-Pb2+ complex.
