Varieties and ensiling: Impact on chemical composition, fermentation quality and bacterial community of alfalfa

Jianyu Lin et al.

Summary: This study collected six species of alfalfa commonly found in northern China and analyzed their chemical composition and epiphytic microbial communities during ensiling. The effects of these factors on fermentation quality and silage bacterial communities were assessed. The results showed that the chemical composition significantly influenced the microbial community and fermentation quality, providing a foundation for future research on high-quality silage.

Chemical Structure of Stabilizing Layers of Negatively Charged Silver Nanoparticles as an Effector of Shifts in Soil Bacterial Microbiome under Short-Term Exposure

Sebastian Wojciech Przemieniecki et al.

Summary: This study assessed the impact of three types of silver nanoparticles and silver ions on soil bacteria, and found that different types of silver nanoparticles had varying effects on bacterial metabolic activity. One type of silver nanoparticles prepared with tannic acid increased bacterial load and activity, while silver ions significantly reduced bacterial metabolic activity. Furthermore, the treatment with silver nanoparticles also resulted in qualitative changes in the composition of the bacterial community.

Soil-aged nano titanium dioxide effects on full-grown carrot: Dose and surface-coating dependent improvements on growth and nutrient quality

Yi Wang et al.

Summary: The weathered rutile titanium dioxide nanoparticles had positive effects on carrot growth, depending on the surface coating and concentration. Aged hydrophobic and hydrophilic-coated nTiO2 showed benefits in plant development, but also negatively affected certain elements in carrots.
