Steerable sheath visualizable under 3D electroanatomical mapping facilitates paroxysmal atrial fibrillation ablation with minimal fluoroscopy

Anil Rajendra et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of incorporating a visualizable sheath into a low-fluoroscopy workflow for atrial fibrillation (AF) ablations. The results showed that the use of a visualizable sheath improved catheter stability, reduced radiofrequency time, and decreased fluoroscopy usage, without compromising safety or effectiveness.

Dorottya Debreceni et al.

Summary: In this meta-analysis, a comparison was made between conventional fluoroscopy-guided procedures and zero/minimal fluoroscopy approaches using electroanatomical mapping systems for the treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). The results showed that the zero/minimal fluoroscopy approach significantly reduced radiation exposure and ablation time without compromising treatment success rates or complication rates.

Transseptal Approach Versus Transaortic Approach for Catheter Ablation of Left-Sided Accessory Pathways in Children

Xia Yu et al.

Summary: The study compared the safety and efficacy of the transseptal approach (TS) and aortic approach (TA) for catheter ablation of left-sided accessory pathways (APs) in children. Both approaches were shown to be safe and effective, with TS having shorter procedure time for certain locations of APs. However, TA was preferred due to zero radiation and ease of mastery, while TS is recommended for properly trained medical professionals, especially for specific patient populations.

Intracardiac echocardiography Chinese expert consensus

Zhong Jingquan et al.

Summary: Percutaneous catheter interventions have become essential for diagnosing and treating structural heart diseases and arrhythmias. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is increasingly used in cardiac interventions due to its real-time imaging and monitoring capabilities. This consensus document provides guidance for clinicians and aims to improve interventional cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment procedures by standardizing the clinical applications of ICE.

Fluoroless radiofrequency and cryo-ablation of atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia in adults and children: a single-center experience

Matevz Jan et al.

Summary: The study showed that radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryo-ablation (CRA) guided by the 3D electro-anatomical mapping (EAM) system without the use of fluoroscopy can be performed in patients with atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT) effectively and safely. The success rates and procedural outcomes of both methods were similar, with high arrhythmia-free survival rates and no complications reported, suggesting that the fluoroless approach is a viable option for AVNRT treatment.

Summary: Cryoablation with an 8-mm tip catheter for tAVNRT in children is safe with an acceptable acute success rate and low recurrence rate. A faster termination of AVNRT during the cryolesion is associated with acute success.
