Tissue Bioengineering with Fibrin Scaffolds and Deproteinized Bone Matrix Associated or Not with the Transoperative Laser Photobiomodulation Protocol

Karina Torres Pomini et al.

Summary: Extending the use of heterologous fibrin biopolymer, this pre-clinical study examined the formation of a less dense scaffold to facilitate bone cell infiltration by adjusting the proportionality of its components. Combined with laser photobiomodulation therapy, it aimed to accelerate the repair process and reduce recovery time. The study found that the laser-treated groups showed higher bone volume and bone area, indicating the potential effects of laser radiation in promoting bone regeneration.

The Role of Low-Level Laser Therapy in Bone Healing: Systematic Review

Micaela Berni et al.

Summary: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is increasingly used in orthopedics practices to promote angiogenesis, fracture healing, and osteogenic differentiation of stem cells. However, the cellular mechanisms during bone formation remain largely unknown. Factors such as wavelength, energy density, irradiation, and frequency of LLLT influence the cellular mechanisms, and the effects of LLLT vary according to cell types treated. This review aims to summarize the current knowledge of the molecular pathways activated by LLLT and its effects on the bone healing process to improve its clinical application.
