Real-valued layer-based hologram calculation

Daiki Yasuki et al.

Summary: This paper presents an acceleration method for layer-based hologram calculations, which reduces the time-consuming complex-valued operations and generates amplitude holograms using real linear transformations. It also proposes a technique to convert the generated holograms into phase-only holograms while maintaining the calculation acceleration.

Optimized Iterative Algorithm to Generate Computer-Generated Holograms Based on the Intermediate Angular-Spectrum Method

Dapu Pi et al.

Summary: The intermediate angular-spectrum method is an efficient way to calculate computer-generated holograms without zero-padding and cropping operation. In this paper, an optimized iteration algorithm is proposed to improve the reconstruction quality. The method suppresses speckle noise by multiplying the quadratic phase with the target image, and improves the reconstruction quality by introducing the freedom domain. Numerical simulations and optical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for high-quality reconstruction.

Review of computer-generated hologram algorithms for color dynamic holographic three-dimensional display

Dapu Pi et al.

Summary: Holographic three-dimensional display is an important technique that provides depth information without special eyewear. Computer-generated holograms have emerged as the most promising method for holographic display, but face challenges such as heavy computation burden and low image quality. Researchers have explored various algorithms to overcome these problems and achieve color dynamic holographic three-dimensional display.

Iterative multiplane hologram generation with mixed constraint

Alejandro Velez-Zea

Summary: In this work, a mixed complex and phase only constraint was introduced to the Gerchberg-Saxton (G-S) algorithm, leading to improvements in the generation of holograms from multiplane light field distributions. The optimal weight factor for the complex and phase only part of a light field in every plane was determined for best accuracy. This approach was also demonstrated to generate encrypted holograms that can only be reconstructed by illumination with a determined phase profile, enabling secure, high-quality multiplane projection and display.

Further improvements to iterative off-axis digital holography

Siyuan He et al.

Summary: A new iterative algorithm based on the concept of wavefront-coding is proposed to overcome the limitations of off-axis holography in measuring rough or strong scattering objects. By treating the reference wave as a wave modulator, the algorithm iteratively retrieves the full frequency spectrum, significantly improving the capability of off-axis holography.
