However, more guidance is needed on how to conduct these reviews in an environment that is more familiar with quantitative research reviews. This paper discusses the differences between Cochrane qualitative evidence syntheses and intervention effectiveness reviews, and how these differences have influenced the guidance developed by the Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care group. It also explores the lessons that reviews of effectiveness can learn from qualitative research.
