An enzyme-responsive electrochemical DNA biosensor achieving various dynamic range by using only-one immobilization probe

Jianru Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a simple and easy-to-operate biosensor with a tunable dynamic range was developed for diagnostic applications. The biosensor utilized an enzyme-responsive electrochemical DNA biosensor that only required one immobilization probe. The immobilization probe, designed with a hairpin-like structure, contained independent target recognition and enzyme-responsive domains. The biosensor showed extended dynamic range, lowered detection limit, and better discrimination ability, making it a promising tool for diagnostic applications and drug monitoring.

Enhanced response and selective gold nanoparticles/carbon nanotubes biosensor for the early detection of HER2 biomarker

Yahia Makableh et al.

Summary: A screen-printed carbon electrode was utilized to develop a biosensor with improved response and selectivity for detecting HER2. Electrochemical characterizations including impedance spectroscopy, differential pulse, and cyclic voltammetry were conducted to assess the biosensor's performance, along with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. The biosensor exhibited fast binding to the target protein, taking only 5 minutes, and had a detection limit of 4.4 Pg/ml. These findings suggest that the biosensor can serve as a potential analytical tool for early detection of breast cancer, particularly at low concentrations.

A dual-blocker aided and dual-label-free electrochemical biosensor based on mbHCR/rGO nanocomplexes for ultrasensitive DNA detection

Zeyu Ma et al.

Summary: This study developed a dual-blocker assisted and dual-label-free heterogeneous electrochemical strategy using multi-branched hybridization chain reaction (mbHCR) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) for ultrasensitive DNA detection. The target DNA triggered mbHCR, resulting in the generation of long chains of DNA duplexes with bidirectional arms. One direction of the arms attached to the gold electrode, enhancing recognition efficiency, while the other direction adsorbed rGO. With methylene blue as the electrochemical reporter, a significant signal rise was observed. This strategy is cost-effective and has great potential in nucleic acid-related diagnostics.
