LDHB Overexpression Can Partially Overcome T Cell Inhibition by Lactic Acid

Sonja-Maria Decking et al.

Summary: Lactic acid inhibits the metabolic activity, cytokine secretion, and cell proliferation of human CD4 T cell subsets, while overexpression of LDHB increases cell respiration and mitigates the effects of lactic acid on cytokine production. Cells overexpressing LDHB demonstrate enhanced cytotoxic effector molecule expression in the tumor environment, suggesting that LDHB overexpression may be a promising strategy to improve the efficacy of adoptive T cell transfer therapy.

African Suid Genomes Provide Insights into the Local Adaptation to Diverse African Environments

Hai-Bing Xie et al.

Summary: This study successfully assembled the genomes of African wild suids, revealing the divergence time of common warthogs and red river hogs from their common ancestor, as well as their genetic adaptations to different environments. The study also identified gene variations and evolutionary signals related to the immune system and sensory perception.
