Peristaltic transport of elliptic particles: A numerical study

O. Ashtari et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the peristaltic transport of elliptic particles suspended in Newtonian fluids. The results demonstrate that aspect ratio and initial inclination angle significantly affect the particle transport. Circular particles move faster and experience less shear stress under free-pumping mode, while elliptic particles are predicted to move faster above a critical Reynolds number due to hydrodynamic instability.

Evaluate Asymmetric Peristaltic Pumping Drug Carrying Image in Biological System: Measure Multiphase Flows in Biomedical Applications

Nahid Fatima et al.

Summary: This article proposes a drug delivery model for the direct treatment of diseased tissues. By studying the particulate peristaltic transport of a Jeffrey fluid in an asymmetric duct, the transportation process of drug particles along with the fluid is investigated. The pumping process is controlled by magnetic force to achieve accurate drug delivery. The flow model is derived using partial differential equations, and the effects of different parameters are visualized through graphical displays.

HEAT TRANSFER APPLICATIONS IN CURVED MICRO-CHANNEL DRIVEN BY ELECTROOSMOSIS AND PERISTALTIC PUMPING

D. C. Lu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a precise model to study the flow characteristics of electroosmotic flow in curved micro-vessels, considering the viscous dissipation effect in heat transfer. The nonlinear PDEs of the system are solved numerically, and the numerical results of electric potential, stream function, pressure gradient, axial velocity, temperature and shear stress are displayed through graphical illustrations. The paper also discusses the trapping of blood flow under the effects of physical parameters and demonstrates the features of micro-mixer peristaltic pumps and chip devices for hemodialysis and sample judgment respectively.

On behavioral response of ciliated cervical canal on the development of electroosmotic forces in spermatic fluid

Sara Abdelsalam et al.

Summary: The goal of this research is to investigate the effect of electroosmotic forces on the swimming of sperms in the cervical canal. The results show that using a hyperbolic tangent fluid as the base liquid is more appropriate for simulating and discussing the motility of cervical fluid. The motility of mucus velocity is more applicable to the upper swimming sheet of propulsive spermatozoa with small power law index values, and increases with the electroosmotic parameter and Helmholtz-Smoluchowski velocity.

Using perceptron feed-forward Artificial Neural Network (ANN) for predicting the thermal conductivity of graphene oxide-Al2O3/water-ethylene glycol hybrid nanofluid

Shaopeng Tian et al.

Summary: The study suggests that increasing the temperature of nanofluid has a minor impact on the volume fraction of nanoparticles, with thermal conductivity increasing by 6% at low concentrations. However, at high concentrations, increasing the temperature further enhances the thermal conductivity.

Thermal analysis of radiative bioconvection magnetohydrodynamic flow comprising gyrotactic microorganism with activation energy

Aaqib Majeed et al.

Summary: Bioconvection flows play a crucial role in the design of bio-cells, bio-conjugates, and bio-microsystems, and the research on these flows provides insights into the behavior of gyrotactic microorganisms with activation energy in electrically conducting flow. Numerical simulations show that the density of motile microorganisms decreases with increasing Peclet number and bioconvection Lewis number, while thermal buoyancy and buoyancy force ratio parameter exhibit opposite effects on the velocity profile.

A comprehensive experimental investigation of dynamic viscosity of MWCNT-WO3/water-ethylene glycol antifreeze hybrid nanofluid

Yanfang Zhu et al.

Summary: This laboratory study investigated the impact of temperature and volume fraction of nanoparticles on the dynamic viscosity of MWCNT - WO3 / water - Ethylene glycol nanofluid. The results showed that the viscosity increases with temperature at a constant temperature, but decreases with temperature at a constant volume fraction. A mathematical model was proposed to estimate the viscosity based on temperature and volume fraction, which was found to be accurate for the nanofluid.
