Applied Intelligent Grey Wolf Optimizer (IGWO) to Improve the Performance of CI Engine Running on Emulsion Diesel Fuel Blends

Hussein Alahmer et al.

Summary: Water-in-diesel emulsion fuel is a potential alternative fuel that can lower NOx emissions and improve combustion efficiency. This study examines the impact of the emulsion fuel on engine performance and NOx emissions using a compression ignition engine. The results show that using emulsified gasoline enhances engine performance and reduces emissions. The application of optimizers helps determine the optimal water addition and engine speed, further improving the engine's performance and reducing emissions.

Effect of ammonia addition on combustion and emission characteristics of hydrogen-fueled engine under lean-burn condition

Gu Xin et al.

Summary: This experimental study investigates the suppression of heat release rate in a hydrogen-fueled engine through the addition of ammonia. The results show that adding small amounts of ammonia decreases the combustion rate, prolongs flame development and propagation durations, reduces pressure and heat release rate peaks, and increases peak effective pressure and thermal efficiency. However, it also leads to increased nitrogen oxide emissions.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the effects of hydrogen direct injection on combustion and the cycle-by-cycle variations in a spark ignition n-butanol engine under lean burn conditions. The results show that increasing the hydrogen fraction can gradually reduce cycle-by-cycle variations, improve the stability introduced catalyst, and enhance combustion characteristics.

Effects of oxyhydrogen on the CI engine fueled with the biodiesel blends: A performance, combustion and emission characteristics study

B. Kanimozhi et al.

Summary: The main purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of oxy hydrogen (HHO) along with the Moringa oleifera biodiesel blend on engine performance, combustion, and emission characteristics. The results show that adding HHO gas to the blend can reduce fuel consumption and the concentration of CO, HC, and CO2 emissions, but does not reduce the formation of NO. However, adding HHO to the biodiesel can significantly reduce the average NOx.
