Bioconvective chemically reactive entropy optimized Cross-nano-material conveying oxytactic microorganisms over a flexible cylinder with Lorentz force and Arrhenius kinetics

Asgar Ali et al.

Summary: This research study predicts the entropy assessment in the bioconvective Darcy-Forchheimer (DF) stream of MHD Cross nanofluid carrying oxytactic microbes past a flexible cylinder with velocity slip, Arrhenius kinetics, and chemical reaction. The simulation results demonstrate that the velocity field slows down with an increase in the porosity parameter and Forchheimer number, while the thermal, solutal, and microbial profiles decrease due to their corresponding stratification parameters. Furthermore, the activation energy influences the Sherwood number, and the porosity parameter and Forchheimer number affect the entropy production rate.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the flow behavior and heat transfer properties of iron oxide microparticle suspension in a coaxial cylindrical annular gap with a magnetic field. The results show that increasing the Reynolds number and Hartmann number enhances the heat transfer capability of the Taylor vortex flow, with a maximum improvement of 8.09%. The magnetic field causes anisotropic velocity and temperature distributions, and the Lorentz force promotes particle motion and facilitates energy exchange. This research provides a new means to enhance heat transfer in Taylor-Couette flow using magnetic fields.

Bioconvection Flow of MHD Viscous Nanofluid in the Presence of Chemical Reaction and Activation Energy

Muhammad Imran Asjad et al.

Summary: This study investigates how the movement of nanofluids appropriately controls the enhancement of heat transfer due to stretching sheets. The concentration and settling of nanoparticles in viscous MHD fluid and bioconvection are considered, along with the effects of a normal and uniform magnetic field, thermal radiation, and chemical reaction on the fluid flow. The system of partial differential equations for the two-dimensional flow with heat and mass transfer is converted to corresponding ordinary differential equations using similarity functions. The Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique and MATLAB script are used to evaluate the results, which show satisfactory congruences with existing literature. The findings include the slowing of fluid velocity with an increase in the magnetic parameter, the rise in temperature with Brownian motion and thermophoresis, and the reduction of velocity field due to bioconvection Lewis number.
