Comparative Analysis of Power Output, Fill Factor, and Efficiency at Fixed and Variable Tilt Angles for Polycrystalline and Monocrystalline Photovoltaic Panels-The Case of Sukkur IBA University

Lyu-Guang Hua et al.

Summary: This paper carries out a numerical study to determine the optimal tilt angle for a 1 MW PV system installed at Sukkur IBA University. The results show that the optimal tilt angle for both polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar panels is 29.5 degrees. The power output, efficiency, and fill factor of the panels are also calculated.

Experimental study on the impact of soiling on the modules temperature and performance of two different PV technologies under hot arid climate

Nabil Ammari et al.

Summary: This paper conducted an experimental study to evaluate the impact of soiling on the temperature and electricity production of two photovoltaic technologies (Poly-Si and CdTe) under a hot semi-arid climate of Morocco. Results show that soiling has a significant impact on the Poly-Si technology, leading to a 15% decrease in energy production.

Snapshot of photovoltaics - February 2022

Arnulf Jaeger-Waldau

Summary: Over the past decade, photovoltaic electricity generation has become the fastest-growing power source globally, with solar energy capacity reaching new heights. The Chinese market's recovery, along with ongoing growth in Europe, the USA, and emerging markets, has been a major driver. The decreasing prices in battery storage technology have fostered the development of local storage systems for solar farms and decentralized electricity generation systems. It is evident that renewable electricity will play a crucial role in powering electric vehicles and producing green hydrogen in the future.

Investigation of the Dust Scaling Behaviour on Solar Photovoltaic Panels

Xueqing Liu et al.

Summary: Solar PV panels are often affected by dust accumulation, which can significantly decrease their efficiency. This study investigates the appearance, phase composition, formation, evolution, and effects of dust particles on PV panels. The dust particles on the panels primarily originate from industrial products and urban pollutants, leading to decreased transmittance and increased dust pollution levels.

Outdoor investigation of the performance of three PV panels technologies in Morocco

Abdelouahed Chbihi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on comparing the durability of three different PV panels in two regions under different climatic stresses. Influence of soiling on the panels was found to be significant, leading to a 29% drop in maximal power after one month of outdoor exposure. Aging of the panels was also studied over a period of around 1000 days, with an annual power loss recorded in both sites.
