Nathan Dasenbrock-Gammon et al.

Summary: By studying a nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride, we have discovered a superconductor with a maximum critical superconducting transition temperature (T-c) of 294 K, which means superconductivity at room temperature and near-ambient pressures.

Prediction of ambient-pressure superconductivity in ternary hydride PdCuHx

R. Vocaturo et al.

Summary: We present an ab initio study of the ternary hydride PdCuHx and demonstrate that at low hydrogen content it is not a superconductor, while at high hydrogenation it shows strong coupling superconductivity. Our study provides a solid explanation for the unusual increase of superconducting critical temperature in hydrogenated palladium when alloyed with noble metals. We highlight the important role played by H-derived phonon modes and their strong coupling with states at the Fermi level.

Iron pnictides and chalcogenides: a new paradigm for superconductivity

Rafael M. Fernandes et al.

Summary: Superconductivity is a widespread phenomenon observed in most metals at very low temperatures. While conventional superconductors can be explained by the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory, unconventional superconductors like iron-based materials challenge our understanding. The study of iron-based superconductors has served as a testing ground for novel experimental tools and theoretical approaches, greatly influencing the field of quantum materials.

Hydrogenation-induced high-temperature superconductivity in two-dimensional molybdenum carbide Mo2C3

Na Jiao et al.

Summary: Researchers predicted a stable two-dimensional transition metal molybdenum carbide 2H-Mo2C3 based on density functional first-principles calculations, and found that after hydrogenation, 2H-Mo2C3H2 exhibited high critical temperature, making it a potential candidate for high-temperature superconductors synthesis in future experiments.

Anomalous Metallic Phase in Molybdenum Disulphide Induced via Gate-Driven Organic Ion Intercalation

Erik Piatti et al.

Summary: Transition metal dichalcogenides exhibit rich phase diagrams dominated by the interplay of superconductivity and charge density waves. In this study, we demonstrate the tunable, non-volatile organic ion intercalation in MoS2 and its influence on the electronic ground state. The observed anomalies in the transport properties suggest the competition between charge-density wave phase and superconductivity.

Multivalley Superconductivity in Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenides

Dongdong Ding et al.

Summary: In this study, we report the induced superconducting state with a record high critical temperature (approximately 6K) and the emergence of a nonlinear Hall effect in a high-quality monolayer WS2 under ion gate control. The nonlinearity is attributed to the population of Q valleys, which is suggested to be a prerequisite for developing superconductivity. This study provides insights into the spin textured Fermi surface of Ising superconductivity in transition metal dichalcogenides.

Protonation-induced discrete superconducting phases in bulk FeSe single crystals

Yan Meng et al.

Summary: In this paper, a series of discrete superconducting phases, with a maximum Tc up to 44 K, have been discovered in H+-intercalated FeSe single crystals using an ionic liquid gating method. With the increase of Tc, the nematic phase is suppressed and the transition from non-Fermi-liquid to Fermi-liquid behavior is observed. An abrupt change in the Fermi surface topology is proposed to explain the occurrence of these discrete superconducting phases.

Printable two-dimensional superconducting monolayers

Jing Li et al.

Summary: A mild electrochemical exfoliation method has been developed to synthesize large-size, high crystallinity two-dimensional superconductor monolayers, enabling the fabrication of twisted van der Waals heterostructures and printed films. This method yields 2DSC monolayers with unconventional Ising pair superconductivity and enhanced upper critical field, with NbSe2 achieving a high yield of large single-crystal monolayers up to 300 μm. The resulting twisted NbSe2 vdWHs exhibit high stability, good interfacial properties, and modulation of critical current by magnetic field interaction.

Hydrogenation as a source of superconductivity in two-dimensional TiB2

Hui Wang et al.

Summary: Using first-principles calculations based on density functional perturbation theory, this study demonstrates hydrogenation-induced superconductivity in monolayer TiB2H. The presence of hydrogen adatoms disrupts the Dirac state of monolayer TiB2, leading to a high vibration frequency in monolayer TiB2H and a predicted Tc of 8K. Additionally, the superconducting properties of monolayer TiB2H are found to be further enhanced under external tensile strain, thereby expanding our understanding of superconductivity in 2D materials and its potential applications.

Summary: The authors observed magnetoresistance oscillations and an anomalous metal state due to the coexistence of superconductivity and charge density wave in lithium intercalated TiSe2. They induced a superconducting dome in the phase diagram of LixTiSe2 and observed periodically arranged superconducting arrays around optimal doping. Additionally, they observed an anomalous metal state with resistance plateau below the superconducting transition.
