MicroRNAs as Potential Biomarkers in Coronary Artery Disease

Maria Bergami et al.

Summary: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major cause of global mortality, and there is a need for novel diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Recent evidence suggests a link between dysregulated miRNAs and cardiovascular diseases, including CAD. miRNAs have potential as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, and are involved in regulating multiple pathways that contribute to atherosclerotic plaque development. miRNAs are stable and easily detectable, making them attractive as biomarkers for cardiovascular disease diagnosis and prognosis.

Clinical Application of Serum microRNAs in Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease

Anna Kablak-Ziembicka et al.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRs) play important roles in the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, a globally significant condition affecting a wide range of clinical cases. Studying the expression of miRs in CAD and ACS can provide clinicians with vital information.
