Biomass-based Co/C@Carbon composites derived from MOF-modified cotton fibers for enhanced electromagnetic attenuation

Jiali Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a composite material with Co/C particles embedded in carbon networks was synthesized, showing higher electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (SE) than pure carbon networks. The remarkable performance is attributed to the aligned carbon networks and the Co/C particles, which can regulate the SE by changing the angle between the fiber orientation direction and the direction of the incident EM-wave electric field and enhance the shielding performance through catalytic graphitization. The composite material has the potential to be used as efficient biomass-based electromagnetic attenuation materials.

A Proof-of-Concept Study of Auxetic Composite Foams with Negative Poisson?s Ratio for Enhanced Strain-Stable Performance of Electromagnetic Shielding

Zhefeng Xu et al.

Summary: A novel strategy of constructing an auxetic structure is proposed to stabilize the EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of conductive polymer composite (CPC) foams during stretching. Lightweight auxetic polyurethane/carbon nanotube (APU/CNT) composite foams were prepared and showed more stable SE values under tensile strain. The presence of auxetic structure increased the foam thickness and avoided the destruction of conductive networks, resulting in enhanced strain-stable EMI shielding behavior.
