Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Appropriate Thyroid Cancer Treatment, Before and After the Release of the 2015 American Thyroid Association Guidelines

Summary: This study explored the impact of the 2015 ATA guidelines on thyroid cancer treatment patterns and racial/ethnic disparities. Prior to 2015, racial/ethnic minorities were less likely than White patients to receive appropriate surgical and radioactive iodine therapy for low-risk thyroid cancer. After the release of the guidelines, these disparities improved.
