Almost all extremal black holes in AdS are singular

Summary: We studied the geometry near the horizon of a four-dimensional extremal black hole. When the cosmological constant is negative, we found that tidal forces diverge as one crosses the horizon, and this singularity is stronger for larger black holes. This applies to generic nonspherical black holes, and all scalar curvature invariants remain finite. Furthermore, nonextremal black holes have tidal forces that diverge in the extremal limit, reflecting in anomalous scaling of the specific heat with temperature holographically. Similar, albeit weaker, effects are present when the cosmological constant is positive, but not when it vanishes.

Summary: We review recent developments in Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity, a simple solvable model of quantum gravity in two dimensions. It has been proven to be a fruitful toy model to analyze important questions such as the relation between black holes and chaos, the role of wormholes in black hole physics and holography, and the recovery of information that falls into a black hole.

Near-extremal limits of warped CFTs

Summary: We provide a detailed derivation of the near-extremal limit for the torus partition function of warped conformal field theories (WCFTs). This limit requires large values of the central charge and is consistent only for non-unitary WCFTs. By comparing our analysis with previous studies, we explore the relation between WCFTs and one-dimensional warped-Schwarzian theories. We also discuss various ensembles of warped CFTs and compare our results with similar limits in two-dimensional CFTs.

Complexity of warped conformal field theory

Summary: Warped conformal field theories in two dimensions, characterized by Virasoro-Kac-Moody symmetries, have been studied as candidate boundary duals to warped AdS3 spacetimes. This study investigates these theories using circuit complexity as a tool and finds that the holographic volume complexity displays a linear UV divergence structure and has a complicated dependence on Virasoro central charge c and U(1) Kac-Moody level parameter k. It also considers circuit complexity based on Virasoro-Kac-Moody symmetry gates and explores a special solution in which complexity scales linearly with time. In the semiclassical limit, both the holographic volume complexity and circuit complexity scale with k.

Boundary conditions for warped AdS3 in quadratic ensemble

Summary: In this work, a new set of boundary conditions in three-dimensional Topologically Massive Gravity (TMG) is found, such that the putative dual theory is a warped conformal field theory (WCFT) in the quadratic ensemble. The bulk thermodynamic entropy of warped BTZ black holes is calculated using the warped Cardy formula, and the issue of identifying the vacuum in the solution space is discussed.

We determine the scaling dimensions and charges of various twist operators in non-Abelian orbifold WCFT and compute the reflected entropy, logarithmic negativity, and odd entropy for two disjoint intervals in holographic WCFT.

Holographic entanglement entropy and modular Hamiltonian in warped CFT in the framework of GMMG model

Summary: In this paper, we study a class of non-AdS holography with GMMG gravity model, and investigate the duality between the WAdS(3) black hole solution and the WFCT boundary theory. The compatibility of charge algebra in the bulk isometries and the vacuum symmetries at the boundary, as well as the equality of entanglement entropy and modular Hamiltonian, provide evidence for the duality conjecture. Additionally, matching conditions are introduced to show equality of modular Hamiltonian and gravitational charge variations in both sides of the duality, suggesting that the dual theory of the GMMG's warped AdS(3) black hole solution is a Warped CFT.
