Thioacetamide-derived nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon quantum dots for green quantum dot solar cells

Shahina Riaz et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon quantum dots (N, S-CQDs) were synthesized and employed in solar cells, achieving a relatively high power conversion efficiency (PCE). Although the achieved PCE is not satisfactory, the upgraded device fabrication and structural design may improve PCE and current densities.

Controllable synthesis of a sponge-like Z-scheme N,S-CQDs/Bi2MoO6@TiO2 film with enhanced photocatalytic and antimicrobial activity under visible/NIR light irradiation

Yanning Qu et al.

Summary: This study successfully addresses the challenges of charge transfer and light capture ability in multifunctional photocatalytic surfaces by constructing a sponge-like N,S-CQDs/Bi2MoO6@TiO2 film. The ternary film exhibits enhanced photocatalytic efficiency under visible and near-infrared light and effectively achieves photocatalytic sterilization of bacteria under visible light irradiation. The improved photocatalytic efficiency is attributed to the introduction of surface-functional N,S-CQDs and the construction of N,S-CQDs/Bi2MoO6@TiO2 Z-scheme system.

Graphene oxide-assisted synthesis of N, S Co-doped carbon quantum dots for fluorescence detection of multiple heavy metal ions

Yujie Shen et al.

Summary: Detection of heavy metal ions in water is an important topic in the field of analytical chemistry and environmental science. In this study, a novel strategy for determining the total content of heavy metal ions in water using fluorescence spectroscopy was developed. Fluorescent nitrogen, sulfur co-doped carbon quantum dots were prepared and showed a wide linear response to a series of water-soluble metal ions. The N, S-CQDs were also found to effectively remove heavy metal ions from water.

Microwave-assisted ultrafast in-situ growth of N-doped carbon quantum dots on multiwalled carbon nanotubes as an efficient electrocatalyst for photovoltaics

Mumtaz Ali et al.

Summary: This study improves the functionality and dispersion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) by directly growing nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs) on MWCNTs and optimizing the reactant concentration. This approach enhances the photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells using NCQDs modified MWCNT as a counter electrode.

N, S doped carbon quantum dots inside mesoporous silica for effective adsorption of methylene blue dye

Termeh Teymoorian et al.

Summary: This study developed nitrogen and sulfur-doped carbon quantum dots loaded inside hexagonal mesoporous silica for efficient removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions. The adsorption parameters were investigated to determine the maximum adsorption capacity and removal efficiency under optimal conditions. The prepared adsorbent showed excellent selective behavior for methylene blue absorption and could be well recycled after repeated cycles.

Fabrication of stable and efficient 2D/3D perovskite solar cells through post-treatment with TBABF4

M. Dehghanipour et al.

Summary: By using TBABF4 as a passivator, this study enhanced the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells through post-treatment. The generation of TBA(+) cations from TBABF4 led to the formation of a 2D/3D heterostructure layer, improving the stability of PSCs.
