This paper provides a comprehensive review of experimental studies on pultruded and pullwound FRP tubular members, focusing on the developments of connections related to these members in the past decade. The scope of the review is limited to member, connection, and full-scale frame behavior. Published works on failure modes, results, and conclusions are discussed and compared. The review concludes with a summary and recommendations for future research.
This paper presents an extensive review of the experimental studies pertaining to pultruded and pullwound FRP tubular members, particularly in the last decade, where there have been developments of connections related to FRP tubular members. The scope of the experimental studies discussed is limited to member, connection, and full-scale frame behaviour. Documented failure modes, results and conclusions from published works have been discussed and tabulated for comparison. A summary and recommendations for future research are presented at the end of the review.
