Selection and Validation of Reliable Reference Genes for Gene Expression Studies in Different Genotypes and TRV-Infected Fruits of Peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) during Ripening

Ze Xu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify reliable reference genes for different genotypes and TRV-infected fruits in peach and provided guidelines for selecting reference genes. The stability of 10 reference genes was calculated using four statistical algorithms, and the best combination of reference genes was determined. The results of this study lay the foundation for accurate evaluation of gene expression in peach.

Evaluation of Optimal Reference Genes for qRT-PCR Analysis in Hyphantria cunea (Drury)

Xudong Zhao et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the stability of eight reference genes in H. cunea under different conditions and verified the expression of the target gene. The results suggest that these reference genes can be used for gene expression studies in H. cunea and provide a reference for selecting reference genes in other Lepidoptera species.

Selection of stable reference genes for quantitative real-time PCR in the Varroa mite, Varroa destructor

Joonhee Lee et al.

Summary: This study investigated the genetic responses of Varroa mites to acaricides and identified eight stable reference genes for transcriptional profiling. eEF1A1 and NADHD were recommended for comparing the effects of acaricides on the whole body, while alpha-tubulin and RpL5 were recommended for studying tissue-specific expression profiles of target genes.

Establishment of an astrocyte-like cell line from the brain of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) for virus pathogenesis and a vitro model of the blood-brain barrier

Yuan Li et al.

Summary: A new cell line TA-02 was established from the brain of cultured tilapia fish, which showed sensitivity to Tilapia Lake Virus and exhibited excellent proliferative capacity. The TA-02 cells expressed various neuroglial cell markers and demonstrated barrier properties when co-cultured. The cell line provides a valuable tool for virus pathogenesis and a vitro model of the fish blood-brain barrier.

Fish cytokines: current research and applications

Masahiro Sakai et al.

Summary: Cytokines are low molecular weight glycoproteins involved in regulating the immune system, with over 100 types identified in humans. Fish also have similar cytokines, and using them as markers can help study the fish's innate immune response. By analyzing cytokine gene expression, researchers can investigate the immune response and inflammatory cytokine involvement in fish.

HMG20A from Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) involved in the immune response to bacterial infection

Zhiqiang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study showed that after being challenged by Streptococcus agalactiae, the expression of On-HMG20A in Nile tilapia tissues was upregulated in a time-dependent manner. Inhibiting the expression of On-HMG20A can reduce the inflammatory response and tissue damage caused by Streptococcus agalactiae in Nile tilapia, as well as decrease the bacterial load in tissues.
