Polarization-Singular Approach to Imaging Mueller-Matrix Polarimetry in the Differential Diagnosis of Histological Sections of Biopsy of Tumors of the Uterus and Prostate

A. Dubolazov et al.

Summary: The diagnostic use of a singular approach in analyzing polarization properties of histological biopsy sections has proven effective in differentiating between benign and malignant tumors of the uterus and prostate. The azimuthal-invariant express method of Mueller-matrix mapping has shown promising sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in the differential diagnosis of uterine myoma and adenocarcinoma, as well as adenocarcinoma of the prostate with varying degrees of differentiation.

Probing the nanoplastics adsorbed by microalgae in water using polarized light scattering

Shijun Yu et al.

Summary: This study utilized polarization scattering method to investigate the adsorption of nanoplastics by microalgae, finding that the adsorption of nanoplastics affects the polarization parameters which vary based on concentrations and sizes. The results suggest that polarization scattering method can be used to probe the concentration and size of nanoplastics adsorbed by microalgae in water.
