Tideless traversable wormholes surrounded by cloud of strings in f(R) gravity

Dhruba Jyoti Gogoi et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate tideless traversable wormholes in the f(R) gravity metric formalism. We examine the viability and structures of three shape functions of wormholes. We also explore the connection between the f(R) gravity model and wormhole shape function, as well as the dependency of the f(R) gravity model on the shape function. Additionally, we find a wormhole solution in the f(R) gravity Starobinsky model surrounded by a cloud of strings, where the wormhole shape function depends on both the Starobinsky model parameter and the cloud of strings parameter.

Kasner cosmology in bumblebee gravity

Juliano C. S. Neves

Summary: Kasner cosmology is a vacuum and anisotropically expanding spacetime studied in the bumblebee model, where Lorentz symmetry is broken. The anisotropic nature of Kasner cosmology can be explained by the bumblebee context, suggesting that the anisotropy in this model could stem from the breaking of Lorentz symmetry. An application in pre-inflationary cosmology is proposed.

Search for Lorentz invariance violation using Bayesian model comparison applied to Xiao et al. GRB spectral lag catalog

Shantanu Desai et al.

Summary: We independently search for Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) using a spectral lag catalog of 46 short GRBs aggregated by Xiao et al. We apply a power-law model to describe the intrinsic astrophysical induced spectral lags and constrain LIV using non-parametric cosmic chronometers. Bayesian model comparison shows no evidence for LIV, and we obtain lower limits of 4 x 10(15) GeV and 6.8 x 10(9) GeV for the linear and quadratic LIV models respectively. Our results obtained with the flat Lambda CDM model are consistent with those obtained using chronometers.

A Robust Estimation of Lorentz Invariance Violation and Intrinsic Spectral Lag of Short Gamma-Ray Bursts

Shuo Xiao et al.

Summary: This study uses short GRBs to constrain Lorentz invariance violation and presents more accurate measurements using a novel calculation method. If LIV is assumed, a limit of E(QG) > 10^15 GeV (95% CL) is obtained. If no LIV is assumed in the keV-MeV energy range, the most accurate measurement of common intrinsic spectral lags for SGRBs is found to be 1.4 +/- 0.5 ms (1 sigma).

Quasinormal modes and Hawking radiation sparsity of GUP corrected black holes in bumblebee gravity with topological defects

Dhruba Jyoti Gogoi et al.

Summary: In this study, we obtained the Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) corrected de Sitter and anti-de Sitter black hole solutions in bumblebee gravity with a topological defect. We calculated the quasinormal modes for different effective cosmological constants and analyzed their impacts on the perturbations. The presence of a global monopole and Lorentz symmetry violation modify the properties of the black holes. The study also investigated the greybody factors, power spectrum, and sparsity of the black holes for the vanishing effective cosmological constant.

Spectral Lag Transition of 32 Fermi Gamma-Ray Bursts and Their Application on Constraining Lorentz Invariance Violation

Zi-Ke Liu et al.

Summary: This study systematically examined the positive-to-negative transition of spectral lag in a small number of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), aiming to constrain the violation of Lorentz invariance. By analyzing 32 GRBs with available redshift data, the study found that the lag transition typically occurs at around 400 keV and successfully constrained the lower limit of the critical quantum gravity energy.

Testing fundamental physics with astrophysical transients

Jun-Jie Wei et al.

Summary: Explosive astrophysical transients at cosmological distances can provide precise tests of the basic assumptions of relativity theory, such as Lorentz invariance and the zero-mass hypothesis of photons. The study discusses signatures of Lorentz invariance violations and the consequences of a non-zero photon rest mass. By utilizing astrophysical sources and methods like dispersion, tests on the weak equivalence principle and photon mass limits can be conducted effectively.

Metric-affine bumblebee gravity: classical aspects

Adria Delhom et al.

Summary: In this study, the metric-affine formulation of bumblebee gravity is considered, field equations are derived, and it is shown that the bumblebee field becomes coupled to other matter fields with potential nontrivial effects. By computing the post-Minkowskian, weak-field limit, the resulting effective theory is explored, coupling scalar and spinorial matter to the effective metric and investigating the physical properties of the VEV of the bumblebee field, focusing on dispersion relations and stability.

Greybody radiation and quasinormal modes of Kerr-like black hole in Bumblebee gravity model

Sara Kanzi et al.

Summary: In the context of Lorentz symmetry breaking (LSB), the quasinormal modes (QNM) and greybody factors (GF) of the Kerr-like black hole spacetime from the bumblebee gravity model are investigated. Scalar and fermionic perturbations are analyzed using both semi-analytic WKB method and the time domain approach. The impact of LSB on the bosonic/fermionic QNM and GF of the Kerr-like black hole are examined in detail, with results depicted graphically and discussed.

Lorentz Invariance Violation Limits from the Spectral-lag Transition of GRB 190114C

Shen-Shi Du et al.

Summary: The spectral lags of gamma-ray bursts have been considered as a potential method to test Lorentz invariance violations, with a new approach proposed to directly fit the spectral-lag behavior of a GRB to determine intrinsic time lag and quantum-gravity energy scales. A global fitting analysis of GRB 190114C using a Bayesian approach shows strong evidence for spectral-lag transitions and provides robust constraints on LIV coefficients, albeit somewhat weaker than existing bounds. Further observations of GRBs with higher-energy emissions and temporal resolutions are expected to refine intrinsic time lag formulation and strengthen LIV constraints in the photon sector.
