Benzotriazole functionalized polydimethylsiloxane for reinforcement water-repellency and corrosion resistance of bio-based waterborne epoxy coatings in salt environment

Chencheng Li et al.

Summary: This study developed a novel bio-based waterborne epoxy coating with superior water repellency and anti-corrosion performance by embedding functionalized polydimethylsiloxane. The coating containing 5% functionalized polydimethylsiloxane showed optimum anticorrosive performance, attributed to the water-repellent property of the enriched polydimethylsiloxane and the passivation protection of benzotriazole.

Bond-slip constitutive model and numerical analysis for rebar embedded in steel-polyethylene hybrid fiber-reinforced cementitious composites

Wei-Hao Mao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the bond behavior between deformed rebar and HECC, proposing a new bond-slip constitutive model to describe their relationship accurately. Additionally, a refined bond-slip constitutive model considering the anchorage position function has been developed based on the distribution of bond stresses along the anchorage length. A finite element analysis (FEA) model has also been built to predict the bond-slip behavior between the rebar and HECC, verifying the accuracy of the model.

Bond behavior of helically wrapped sand coated deformed Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) bars in concrete

Eliya Henin et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the bond behavior of helically wrapped sand coated deformed GFPR bars and identifies chemical adhesion, mechanical interlock, and friction as the main mechanisms of force transfer between GFRP bars and concrete. Factors such as bar size and production variability affect bond behavior, with smaller bars exhibiting higher bond strength. Production variability could lead to significant differences in the bond behavior of GFRP bars in concrete.
