Automatic Quantitative Assessment of Lens Opacities Using Two Anterior Segment Imaging Techniques: Correlation with Functional and Surgical Metrics

Summary: The purpose of this study was to quantitatively assess lens opacity using SS-OCT and establish correlations with Scheimpflug imaging, CDVA, and CDE. The results showed that SS-OCT yielded improved lens imaging compared to Scheimpflug, and had a higher correlation with clinical parameters. Therefore, SS-OCT has the potential to become a preferable option for automatic cataract grading and preoperative planning.
