Structure-Property Optimization of a Series of Imidazopyridines for Visceral Leishmaniasis

Maria Dichiara et al.

Summary: Leishmaniasis is a group of diseases caused by Leishmania parasites, with visceral, cutaneous, or mucocutaneous manifestations. It is a neglected tropical disease, despite its significant mortality and morbidity. Current treatments have limitations, such as variable efficacy, toxicity, resistance, and limited bioavailability, highlighting the need for novel and affordable therapeutics.

Microwave-assisted Groebke-Blackburn-Bienayme multicomponent reaction to synthesize imidazo fused heterocycles via in-situ generated isocyanides from N-formylamines: An undergraduate organic laboratory experiment

Manpreet Kaur et al.

Summary: A one-pot methodology was developed for the direct conversion of N-formylamine, 2-amino pyridine, and aldehyde into 2,3-substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine heterocycles using I2-PPh3-Et3N reagent system under microwave irradiation. The study showcased the feasibility of this method, eliminating a separate step for the synthesis of isocyanides during the preparation of N-formylamines.

Facile synthesis of C6-substituted benz[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]quinoxaline derivatives and their anticancer evaluation

Rahul Singh et al.

Summary: This study synthesized a series of C6-substituted benzimidazo[1,2-a]quinoxaline derivatives and evaluated their anticancer activity in the NCI-60 cancer cell lines. The substituents were found to play a significant role in the activity, with indole, imidazole, and benzimidazole derivatives showing significant activity against triple-negative breast cancer cell lines.
