Difference between Day and Night Temperature (DIF) and Light Intensity Affect Growth and Photosynthetic Characteristics of Panax ginseng Meyer Sprouts

Summary: This study investigated the effects of DIF and LI on the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of Panax ginseng sprouts (PGS). The results showed that a temperature of 20/20 °C and light intensity of 20 PPFD promoted root growth, shoot development, and photosynthetic ability of PGS, making it the optimal condition for large-scale production.

Interaction between increased CO2 and temperature enhance plant growth but do not affect millet grain production

The results show that high temperature leads to taller plants, while both elevated CO2 and temperature result in significantly taller plants. Growth and physiological characteristics of four blueberry cultivars under different high soil pH treatments

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different soil pH levels on the growth and development of blueberry cultivars. It was found that high soil pH hindered green color development in blueberry leaves and inhibited plant growth. However, different cultivars showed tolerance to high soil pH, with a threshold of pH 6.5. Antioxidant enzyme activities and leaf SPAD values were closely related to blueberry growth and dry matter accumulation, and served as important indicators for assessing blueberry adaptation to high soil pH environments.

Are Wild Blueberries a Crop with Low Photosynthetic Capacity? Chamber-Size Effects in Measuring Photosynthesis

Summary: Wild lowbush blueberries, despite previous studies showing low photosynthetic rates, were found to have significantly underestimated photosynthetic capacities when measured using big leaf chambers compared to small leaf chambers. This suggests that chamber size effects need to be considered in quantifying photosynthetic capacity for small-leaf crops.

Development, photosynthesis and yield of blueberry cultivar 'Climax' growth with different substrates and nitrogen fertilization under protected cultivation

Summary: Organic farming techniques have gained popularity recently, but comparing nutrient sources in organic and conventional farming systems still presents challenges. A study evaluating the development of blueberry plants under protected cultivation with different proportions of organic material and mineral N doses found that a higher proportion of organic material in the substrate led to better growth and chlorophyll content in plants not fertilized with mineral N. The substrate with 20% organic material, S2, showed the best results in terms of agronomic and physiological traits for potted 'Climax' blueberry plants.
