High-resolution quantitative trait locus mapping for rice grain quality traits using genotyping by sequencing

Su-Kui Jin et al.

Summary: In this study, high-resolution QTL mapping was conducted to identify the genetic regions responsible for rice grain quality traits. A total of 15 QTLs were identified, including one overlapping with previously reported QTLs and the others being novel. These findings will facilitate the fine mapping and pyramiding of these QTLs, leading to genetic improvement of rice grain quality.

Multi-Omics Pipeline and Omics-Integration Approach to Decipher Plant's Abiotic Stress Tolerance Responses

Rajib Roychowdhury et al.

Summary: Global warming and climate change have negative effects on plants by imposing environmental stresses and disease pressure. Multi-omics approaches, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc., have become useful tools to understand plant responses to abiotic stress and develop climate-smart crops.

Mapping QTLs for anaerobic tolerance at germination and bud stages using new high density genetic map of rice

Jing Yang et al.

Summary: Direct seeding is an efficient technique for rice production, but anaerobic conditions are a major obstacle. By constructing recombinant inbred lines and performing genetic mapping, several quantitative trait loci related to seedling establishment were identified. A candidate gene, OsTPP1, located on locus 3, was found to be promising for molecular breeding strategies.

Identification of QTL and candidate genes involved in early seedling growth in rice via high-density genetic mapping and RNA-seq

Jing Yang et al.

Summary: This study identified stable quantitative trait loci (QTL) affecting early seedling vigor in rice, providing important genetic resources for rice breeding. Additionally, combining specific genes can effectively improve the performance of rice varieties.
