Summary: Automated preprocessing methods are needed to process large EEG databases, but we lack data quality metrics to compare them. In this study, a simple yet robust EEG data quality metric was designed and tested using publicly available EEG data. The results showed that most automated data corrections had no effect on or decreased the percentage of significant channels, while referencing and advanced baseline removal methods were detrimental to performance. Only one preprocessing pipeline significantly improved ERP significance.

Neural Processing Differences of Facial Emotions Between Human and Vehicles: Evidence From an Event-Related Potential Study
