Proteomics of protein trafficking by in vivo tissue-specific labeling

Ilia A. Droujinine et al.

Summary: This study developed a method based on protein labeling to study cell-specific secretomes and interorgan protein trafficking, demonstrated in Drosophila and mouse models, revealing a vast communication network of secreted proteins. It identified muscle-secreted proteins in Drosophila and serum proteins in mice, highlighting the potential of this approach for identifying cell-specific secretomes and mediators of interorgan communication in different model systems.
