Adaptive robust unscented Kalman filter-based state-of-charge estimation for lithium-ion batteries with multi-parameter updating

Summary: This paper presents an adaptive robust unscented Kalman filter (ARUKF) for state-of-charge (SOC) estimation, which is a key technology for battery management systems (BMS). The proposed method utilizes the DP battery model and the improved forgetting factor recursive least square (IFFRLS) for online identification of model parameters. By introducing the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics (IGGIII) weight function and employing a receding horizon based adaptive filter tuning, the ARUKF can accurately estimate SOC while suppressing system disturbances caused by outliers, mistuning, unknown initial values, and aging. Experimental results demonstrate the superior accuracy and convergence speed of the ARUKF compared to other methods.
