Sodium-ion battery from sea salt: a review
Anisa Raditya Nurohmah et al.
Summary: Electrical energy storage is crucial due to increasing human energy needs, and sodium-ion batteries are being developed as a storage solution. Switching from lithium-ion batteries to sodium-ion batteries is planned, as sodium is more abundant and economical. This review focuses on the components of sodium batteries, including anode, cathode, electrolyte, binder, and separator, highlighting the significance of sodium raw materials. Sea salt, or NaCl, shows potential as a cathode raw material in sodium batteries, offering cost reductions and environmental benefits.
