Experimental Parameter Tuning of a Portable Water Generator System Based on a Thermoelectric Cooler

Ingrid Casallas et al.

Summary: Atmospheric Water Generators (AWG) are a promising technology solution for addressing water scarcity worldwide, although their high power consumption is a major drawback. This paper presents the experimental optimization process of a Portable Atmospheric Water Generator (PAWG) prototype based on a thermoelectric cooler. Through an exhaustive search of the experimental solution space, two optimal operation points were identified which maximized the amount of water generated and system performance, resulting in a generated water rate of 0.33 mL/h and a system performance of 0.22 mL/Wh for the PAWG prototype.
