One Health Approach: An Overview of Q Fever in Livestock, Wildlife and Humans in Asturias (Northwestern Spain)

Summary: This study in a region of Spain investigated the prevalence of Coxiella burnetii in domestic ruminants, wild ungulates, and humans, highlighting the contact between wildlife-livestock-human interface. The results showed high seroprevalence in domestic animals and low seroprevalence in wild ungulates, with evidence of bacteria in the environment. The study emphasized a One Health approach involving both medical and veterinary institutions.
