In Situ Photodeposition of Cobalt Phosphate (CoHxPOy) on CdIn2S4 Photocatalyst for Accelerated Hole Extraction and Improved Hydrogen Evolution

Jiachen Xu et al.

Summary: By depositing cobalt phosphate (Co-Pi) on the surface of CdIn2S4 nanosheets, an efficient pathway for accelerating hole transfer and promoting the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity is developed. The introduction of Co-Pi not only increases the probability of photogenerated holes arriving at the catalyst surface, but also prolongs the charge carrier's lifetime. As a result, Co-Pi/CIS exhibits a higher photocatalytic H-2 evolution rate compared to pristine CIS and Pt modified CIS.

In situ growth of CdIn2S4 on NH2-MIL-125 as efficient photocatalysts for H2 production under visible-light irradiation

Yuting Zhou et al.

Summary: Heterojunction engineering was used to improve the photocatalytic hydrogen production efficiency. CdIn2S4@NH2-MIL-125 heterojunction photocatalysts were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The optimal catalyst (CIS@TIM-30) showed a photocatalytic hydrogen rate of 2550 μmol/g h, which was more than 3 times higher than pure CIS. The construction of a heterojunction between CdIn2S4 and NH2-MIL-125 effectively separated photogenerated electrons and holes, leading to enhanced photo-redox ability.
