Adsorption of methylene blue from aqueous solution by peanut shell based activated carbon

Mohd Azmier Ahmad et al.

Summary: Peanut shell-based activated carbon (PSAC) was utilized to effectively remove methylene blue (MB) dye from aqueous solution. The adsorption system of MB-PSAC was best fitted by Freundlich and pseudo-second-order models, indicating physical control and endothermic nature of the adsorption process.

Methylene Blue Dye Removal from Aqueous Media Using Activated Carbon Prepared by Lotus Leaves: Kinetic, Equilibrium and Thermodynamic Study

Roya Salahshour et al.

Summary: In this study, methylene blue was successfully removed from aqueous solution using activated carbon made from lotus leaves, with a maximum sorption efficiency of 97.59% and a maximum adsorption capacity of 80 mg/g. The pseudo-second order kinetic model was found to better describe the kinetic behavior of the sorption process.
