Quantifying current and future raw milk losses due to bovine mastitis on European dairy farms under climate change scenarios

Paola Guzman-Luna et al.

Summary: This research predicts the raw milk losses due to mastitis under climate change scenarios in three major dairy-producing regions in Europe. The study reveals that climate change may result in reduced cow milk yield and elevated SCC in raw milk. Geographical variability also influences the losses, with the Mediterranean region reporting the highest potential milk losses and the Continental region reporting the lowest. The findings provide insights for farmers to detect weaknesses and develop adaptation plans to climate change.

Integrated time-series transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses reveal different inflammatory and adaptive immune responses contributing to host resistance to PRRSV

Qingqing Wu et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the transcriptomic and metabolomic responses of white blood cells and serum to PRRSV infection, revealing the differences in immune response and susceptibility mechanism. The study found that PRRSV infection regulates the gene expression levels of various immune cells, with more severe suppression of T cell immunity and inflammatory response in susceptible pigs. In addition, PRRSV infection also affects amino acid pathways and lipid metabolism. These findings provide a basis for understanding the mechanism of PRRSV resistance and effective control methods.

Antimicrobial resistance of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from bovine mastitis: Systematic review and meta-analysis

Ana Ines Molineri et al.

Summary: Staphylococcus aureus shows increasing antimicrobial resistance over time, with penicillin, clindamycin, erythromycin, and gentamycin having the highest resistance rates. Africa, Asia, and Latin America display higher resistance rates, with no significant differences in resistance based on the clinical origin of the isolates.

Identifications of immune-responsive genes for adaptative traits by comparative transcriptome analysis of spleen tissue from Kazakh and Suffolk sheep

Hua Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mRNA expression levels in the spleen of indigenous Kazakh sheep breed and compared it with the exotic Suffolk breed. A total of 1158 differentially expressed genes were found between the two breeds, with 246 up-regulated and 912 down-regulated genes. The immune-responsive genes identified in spleen tissue were significantly enriched in pathways related to immune responses and adaptive traits in arid and hot environments.
