Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the most abundant components of the tumor microenvironment, promoting breast cancer malignancy through various mechanisms. CAFs have become therapeutic targets due to their unique distribution and biomarkers in tumors. Drugs interrupting the effects of CAFs on surrounding cells have been developed and applied in clinical trials. Summarizing CAF-related studies from a historical perspective can help accelerate the development of CAF-targeted therapeutic strategies for breast cancer.

Epidemiology of canine mammary tumours on the Canary Archipelago in Spain

These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.
