Deep blue fluorescent emitters based imidazole and carbazole for non-doped organic light emitting diodes with CIEy≤0.05

Guozheng Li et al.

Summary: Two fluorescent emitters based on imidazole and carbazole were synthesized for deep blue emission OLEDs with non-doped structure. These emitters exhibited high thermal stability, strong deep blue emission, and good bipolar carrier transport characteristic. The non-doped OLED devices using these emitters achieved high external quantum efficiencies and deep blue emission peaks, making them suitable for high color purity full-color displays.

When Poor Light-Emitting Spiro Compounds in Solution Turn into Emissive Pure Layers in Organic Light-Emitting Diodes: The Key Role of Phosphine Substituents

Pauline Tourneur et al.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of two spiro-configured organic semiconductors as light emitters, using quinolinophenothiazine (QPTZ) or indoloacridine (IA) as the electron-rich fragment and diphenylphosphine oxide fluorene as the electron-poor fragment. The study highlights the crucial role played by these electron-accepting substituents in both the photophysical properties and device performances. Despite their low quantum yield in solution, these compounds unexpectedly exhibit good emission properties when incorporated in pure form in OLEDs, emphasizing the role of intermolecular effects.

Pure Hydrocarbons: An Efficient Molecular Design Strategy for the Next Generation of Host Materials for Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Cyril Poriel et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made in the field of phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) since their discovery in 1998. The development of efficient host materials has been a driving force, and the emergence of pure hydrocarbon (PHC) hosts without heteroatoms has presented a promising solution. Recent studies have shown that PHC hosts can outperform heteroatom-based hosts.
