Risk factors associated with xerostomia and reduced salivary flow in hypertensive patients

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the risk factors associated with xerostomia and hyposalivation in hypertensive patients. The results showed that xerostomia and hyposalivation were frequent in hypertensive patients. Patients with xerostomia had a higher prevalence of osteoarthritis and diaphragmatic hernia, and used specific drugs. Patients suffering from hyposalivation had a higher prevalence of various diseases and used different drugs.

Patient Reported Outcome Measures for Salivary Function: A Systematic Review
