Network meta-analysis of the analgesic effectiveness of regional anaesthesia techniques for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

N. Hussain et al.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of different regional anesthesia techniques for analgesia after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The combination of femoral and sciatic nerve blocks showed the most consistent analgesic benefits, while adductor canal block, local infiltration analgesia, and systemic analgesia performed poorly for acute pain management.

Femoral nerve versus adductor canal block for early postoperative pain control and knee function after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with hamstring autografts: a prospective single-blind randomised controlled trial

Takahiro Ogura et al.

Summary: Comparison study between femoral nerve block (FNB) and adductor canal block (ACB) for postoperative pain management after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) using hamstring autografts showed comparable outcomes in terms of early postoperative pain, knee function, and activity of daily living (ADL). Further research is needed to evaluate the long-term effects of each block on recovery of knee function and ADL.
