Proactive discontinuation of postoperative antibiotic prophylaxis after urethroplasty

Summary: This study examined the clinical significance of discontinuing prophylactic antimicrobial administration after urethroplasty. The results showed that treating preoperative bacteriuria and using antibiotics until Postoperative Day 2, followed by a pause without prophylaxis, did not significantly impact postoperative infectious complications. The overall success rates of the surgery were high, with patient age being the only significant factor affecting objective success.
